Environmental science and sustainable plant system majors can lead to work and graduate school in areas like conservation, renewable energy, horticulture, sustainability and agronomy. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, environmental scientists made a median annual pay of $78,980 with faster than average job growth (2023).
Employment of environmental scientists and specialists is projected to grow 6 percent through 2032, faster than the average for all occupations.
